This program focuses on one of the leading sector of today’s modern engineering field. This new industry base includes the traditional wired communication companies, mobile & cellular companies, wireless local loop operators, and broadband communication companies. With the advancement of digital communication and a rapid growth in information technology and telecommunication sector, a new industrial base has sprung up which requires engineers with more specialized skills in this area. Keeping in mind demand of this evolving industry, the degree includes latest digital technologies as well as traditional communication techniques. At the initial stages the students grasp the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering supported by essential mathematics and physics courses. These courses are followed by area specific courses which introduce students to different specialties in Electrical Engineering. At the later years the students choose a specialization course and they also study advanced courses. In the highly competitive job market a young engineer is not only required to be knowledgeable in technical areas but is also expected to have excellent communication and managerial skills and an appreciation of modern day economics to design and implement a cost effective engineering solution. Students are also offered courses in communication skills, engineering management and economics to prepare them for challenging environments. The course work is supported by state of the art engineering labs. During four years, students work in many labs where they perform experiments using state of the art instruments, equipment and simulation software.
